Meet Our Associate

Julia is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and has been providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy for over 20 years. She works with individuals, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, grief, loss, and relational or attachment challenges.

Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University and a Master of Science in Couple & Family Therapy from the University of Guelph. Her clinical approach is rooted in systemic-relational therapy, with specialized training in Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed and trauma-focused therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, and Brief Therapy. Since 2014, she has been certified by the Ainsworth Attachment Clinic in conducting formal attachment evaluations through the Attachment, Consultation, and Education Service (ACES) at the Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI) in London, Ontario.

In addition to her private practice, Julia has facilitated DBT trauma-focused groups for adults with complex trauma histories and has led support groups for individuals affected by violence or abuse. She is also a Circle of Security parenting group facilitator, helping caregivers strengthen their relationships with their children.

Julia is committed to advancing the field of psychotherapy through education and research. She earned a Doctorate in Education (Educational Leadership) from Western University in 2018 and has developed the SOCPSY 3M03: Counselling & Psychotherapy course at McMaster University. She also teaches part-time in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University.

With her extensive clinical experience, academic expertise, and client-centered approach, Julia provides a safe and supportive space for individuals, couples, and families to heal, grow, and strengthen their relationships.
