Rita Van Meyel, M.S.W, R.S.W is a registered Social Worker who provides psychotherapy to individuals (adults/youth) and families.
Rita has been a practicing Social Worker since 1984 within the medical and mental health settings. Her clinical social work practice has included extensive and intensive training, experience, teaching and supervision in the areas of Acute and Complex Trauma and Grief, as well as Mood and Anxiety presentations. Rita has previously co-facilitated clinical initiatives and published research in the areas of Early Relational Attachment-Trauma and Transcultural Mental Health. Rita is an Associate member of Westbridge Counselling and Consulting since 2012.
Rita's psychotherapeutic practice application is integrative; utilizing cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic therapies with the integration of mindfulness-oriented interventions and EMDR. Her psychotherapeutic practice is guided by empirical research in the fields of attachment, neurobiology, sensorimotor (mind-body), as well family and social systems frameworks that provide pathways toward healing, growth and connection.
