Terri Lane, MSW RSW is a registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She is trained to provide individual, couple and family therapy to clients in need.
Terri has been a practicing Social Worker since 1990. She was born and raised on the East Coast of Canada and has been living in the area since 2002. Terri’s professional background includes working in the fields of children/adult mental health, and addictions. Her clinical experience includes extensive training in: Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy/Brief Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)with the International Center of Excellence in EFT for couples in distress, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for clients dealing with distressing/anxiety provoking/traumatic events in one’s life. Terri has also completed training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness.
Terri believes that everyone experiences distress in their life, and that being able to discuss it and reprocess it will bring balance and inner peace back into their own lives and in their relationships with others. This humanistic and relational perspective enables her to have an understanding of the client’s experiences and to treat them with respect and compassion. She works from an anti-oppressive and anti-racism perspective and has experience working with many clients including clients in the LGBTQ2S community, and First Nations.
The combination of her education, training and experience has enabled her to effectively work with clients in many areas including relationship challenges, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
